Another return to Morning Glory

After recently visiting to check out the Glory as a possible location for a trip with Mon’s family in October, I was hankering to get back there again. So mid-August when the weather was good, I convinced Sri to come for a short stay.

There wasn’t anyone else camping – just a university group in the cabins – so it was another pleasant, quiet stay. We took advantage of the tracks being a lot drier and had a couple of good, long walks around the property, including the wetland area.

Mala’s favourite place at Morning Glory – the sandbar

This time I was particularly interested in assessing Billy’s Camp – which is the furthest from the main facilities, and unpowered – for another visit, prior to the summer holidays. It sits on the bend of the river and is more of a bush camping experience than the lush lawns in the main camping area. There are flushing toilets, and it appears, showers! So it would be a more comfortable way to do a summer bush camp than a free spot on the river. I have a November trip in mind at this stage.
